I built this using the Monogram 1970 Buick GSX kit. The kit supplied decal stripes are black with a red outline. Since I wanted to paint the body red, I had some decals made that are black stripes outlined in yellow. For some reason, my camera didn't pick up the yellow in the stripes, they look white. The wood steering wheel color didn't come out well either.

Since the kit supplied transmission pan was chrome plated, I decided to expand on that bit by painting the exhaust pipes chrome and BMF'ing the gas tank.

Since this kit is 1/24 scale, I tried to find some 1/24 scale wheels to go with the tires. The wheels that I used are 1/25 scale and are found in the 1969 Olds 442 and 1969 Hurst Olds kits. Even though the wheels are 1/25 and the tires are 1/24, I think that they look pretty good together.

I chose yellow spark plug wires to go with the yellow pinstripe on the side stripe decals.

I really hate the front spoiler on the GSX, so I cut it off and re attached it to the frame upside down and blended it in with putty.
