QUESTION: Thinkin' about an AMT '49 Ford gasser. Don't know what donor kit for gasser front suspension, engine, etc. ??? *NM*
The current AMT '55 Chevy Nomad has gasser parts... *PIC*
had forgotten about this one *NM*
'50 convertible kit has a gasser front axle setup *NM*
Not in the Millenium issue of the 1950 Ford convertible. *NM*
The "most available currently" Round 2 issue has those parts restored *NM*
Someone is doing a horrible job of announcing the new, or retooled parts that get added. Now I need this kit on top of the others I already have. Thank You for telling us of these parts. *NM*
That one shows the drag version on the side panel, pretty sure the axle is shown or mentioned also. I wouldn't buy a kit just for an axle, they aren't tough to make *NM*
It's not Mark. *NM*
Does anyone have a pic of the parts?, ie, are they shown on the box side?...TIA *NM*
It's just a simple strait axle on a couple parallel leaf springs same as under the front of any stock '50s pickup kit. *NM*
And this would be the only issue of the '50 I've got...rats!! *NM*
Maybe look into the Revell '57 Ford Sedan gasser kit for front suspension? *NM*
If you have any of the Revell gasser kits, they have great parts that you could use. *NM*
I do, Mike, and I was going to build it as a gasser--impressive parts. *NM*
Another suggestion is the recent AMT 1940 Willys Pickup gasser kit. *NM*
Got it...also going to build as a gasser. *NM*
AMT/MPC '57 Chevy flip nose is another for suspension pieces along with wheels and tires *NM*
Forgot about that kit--don't have it anyway--never could get those @^%# flip-noses to align properly!! *NM*
The Atlantis 57 Chevy has a straight axle I believe (previously Revell kit). Spotlight has the cheap! *NM* *PIC*
Forgot about that one, Bruce. (You'd think I'd remember having destroyed so many as a kid...) *NM*
I used the Revell '57 Chevy gasser axle under my '49 gasser..... *PIC*
What kit did you get the engine for this build? *NM*
Engine is a mishmash of the Oldsmobile engines from AMT' 40 Wiilys and Revell's Anglia gasser kits..... *PIC*
That's pretty, Marty. (Sits a little higher than what I was thinkin,' but the track is spot on.) *NM*
How much altitude are you seeking for the build?
Not very much. (Great tips/advice. Thanks so much.) *NM*
I may have a complete '49 builder in a box of junk - I will look today *NM*
Monogram '55 Chevy hardtop has a gasser front suspension, the leaf springs are separate pieces, thus you could trim the axle if needed and mount the springs where you need them to *NM*
I didn't know that. Thanks. *NM*
