I wonder if Jay Leno has one? *NM*

I'm thinking that the subject matter is so obscure that most people probably haven't even seen one in person. I think it is less likely to be 'rivet counted' if people aren't familiar with the subject so much.

With the Powell Pickup Truck coming from Johan (Okey) I thought this may be of interest *NM* *LINK*
Very glad to see this come out, but talk about obscure!
I hope it does well but I'm still trying to wrap my head around this choice. Unless the money behind this owns one I don't understand why! Just my $.02. *NM*
It's what I was thinking when I saw it. Unfortunately, the subject matter doesn't really interest me. Now if it had been a Studebaker pickup, that would have been another story... sorry to sound negative, but JMHO. *NM*
I agree. I wonder if he has to pay a license fee to use the Powell design? *NM*
I don't know if this is the reason, but one thing about it is that it's a very simple body. Remember how the earlier Trumpeter kits (like the '64/'65 Falcons) had weird-looking bodies? That was because ...
That's what I was thinking about the body also. The company that build it was basically just a sheet metal shop. *NM*
To your point it would be hard to screw up a Powell - I'd want to sit in the corner of THAT pitch meeting

Here's another article on them. In the early 70's there was one I used to see in Anaheim all the time. Unfortunately didn't have a camera at the time and by the time I got one it had disappeared. *NM* *LINK*
Nice to see the JoHan brand on something, it will be a very particular niche market. *NM*
Is that "a very particular (or peculiar) niche market"? Anyway I fit in it, so tired of Mustangs, Nova-Camaros, Challengers. Just somewhat concerned if its going to be 3d printed since I'm not a real fan of resin. *NM*
Contrary to what the “know it all’s” said about the subject, I guess Johan is not dead and gone, after all. *NM*
No licensing fees! *NM*
That's what I was thinking! *NM*
There was a wagon version of the Powell too, which basically looks like a wagon roof added to the truck. *NM*
... And here I thought it couldn't get uglier... I was wrong!!! *NM* *PIC*
Like a vintage Nissan Cube! *NM*
Is it measured in "cubits"? *NM* *PIC*
"What's a cubit?" "How long can you tread water? Ha ha ha ha ha..." *NM*
Re: "What's a cubit?" Ha Ha! *NM*
HMMM...I Used To Know What a Cubit Was... (sound of booming thunder) ;^) *NM*
In the old world it used to be about 18 inches! *NM*
great album ! *NM*
I was thinking Qberts, do the come in yellow? *NM*
I don't think that looks to bad, better from the rear than the front. Course, that paint job helps a bunch. *NM*
Can anyone tell me more about this kit release please? What scale, any details, when, any info which can be shared, etc? A bold venture. Anything new and different I'm all for. I want a couple of these when available. Thanks for listening. *NM*
I want one as well, just because it's different. *NM*
Go down to Tim Boyd's Motor City NNL post. Page 3 about half way down has the info you're asking for. *NM*
RIch good pic of the model and some info
Powell built Just over 1000 of these in three years. If JoHan has only a small production run, he may..
Interesting......
