In Response To: Guys that build race cars are pretty "crafty". That hump probably did nothing. But it kept the competition, and possibly the sanctioning body wondering. So they are all looking at that funny front axle, but not lookng at something else that actually made the car faster. ()

simply for servicing convenience, looks like you might be able to drop a whole bottom end out without removing the engine? Dunno.
