I would suggest using his method for determining the depth/cut line, marking all the wheels the same, holding the wheel with needle nose pliers with the rim flange out over the edge of a table, and using the razor saw to cut partially through, rotate some, cut more, repeat

until the rear section of the wheel is removed. More likely to avoid injury and get more consistent size and depth of the wheels, too.
