    • Very interesting...in this pic the spark plugs are on the bottom side of the heads, and in the pic below (the orange Starliner), they are on the top edge of the heads. *NM*

      • They made them both ways. The most common is with the plugs at the top, however. *NM*

  • Just for information purposes, this is the engine in the AMT 1965 Galaxie "Jolly Green Gasser" kit. .......... *PIC* .....
    • '65 has the Wedge engine, '66 has the OHC. '69 XL also has it. Neither includes two engines, the OHC heads and other parts go on the Wedge block (externally similar in 1:1) *NM*
    • Pretty much any issue of AMT's '65 Galaxies kit that you can lay your hands on... If memory serves me it may also apply to the '66. *NM*

        • Definitely not the '65. Its first (annual) issue was in late '64 when the OHC engine didn't yet exist *NM*
  • AMT 68 Mustang GT 500, 66 Galaxie,OGM 33 Willys Coupe,33 Willys Van, Mustang/Falcon/ Nicholson Merc Cyclon AFXers....plus others, all have their good & bad points but remember plugs are on top, angled edge on the cam cover to the firewall. *NM*
    • Len Woodruff once assembled a SOHC Ford for one of his models. Perhaps he could impart huis knowledge and wisdom on what he thinks the best kit parts are from. *NM*
      • I've built a couple, AMT's Nicholson Cyclone AFX, OGM 33 Willys & Polar Lights Ronda F/C, also the Revell diecast 1/6th FED version...all are good, just depends on how you want to build it, twin 4's are in the Galaxie & 68 Mustang GT500 offer that option also. *NM*
      • If it helps, the SOHC in the Ohio George kit has a C-6, which was standard for most drag cars after '65
        • He initially adapted the OHC engine to a Hydra-Matic. Ford helped him with the C6; the ones he used actually did shift themselves *NM*
