..my late great modeling buddy Chuck Helppie called it the "Pink Flamingo". I built if to enter in the MPC Contest series for 1977 or 78, but the paint (at that point, 16-year-old Pactra Pearlustre Pink) sprayed some dirt with the paint so I decided to finish the model as is and put it on the shelf. I always viewed the '58 Impala as horribly overstyled (primarily with its sidebody chrome trim), so this model was a somewhat cheeky attempt to come up with something equally outrageous (again, in my view), but coming at it from a different angle.

BTW, while I am not a fan of the '58 Imp, I readily acknowledge that many, many more people ARE a fan....TB
