Communist governments tend not to have labor unions within their borders.
Don't know why the model companies years ago, didn't just relocate the tooling to open shop states like Texas. Yes, there are a few companies in Texas with labor unions (BNSF Railroad, the airlines, manufacturers like GM and Lockheed and Textron/Bell Helicopter), but most of the manufacturing companies I've worked for have been non-Union.

Heck, Airfix used to pop models out of a plant near Waco in the early '80s. Think it was located in the town of Hewitt.
