They have a handful of people, and very little overhead; it is one way to make the industry profitiable for domestic production.

Likewise, I will also speculate that there would not be a modern US plastic modeling hobby if there were not low-cost vendors - yes, China - to do the work.

We can debate the sociology endlessly, but the truth is that making inexpensive things with expensive labor is a path to shutdown.
