O/T: I'll leave this here *PIC*
LOVE those '79-'93 Fox body Mustangs! *NM*
Yes, they are pretty cool, one of my favorites as well. *NM*
Can you still find tires for those 390mm TRX Wheels? *NM*
Re: Can you still find tires for those 390mm TRX Wheels? That's the reason I got rid of mine years ago! Had one sans the pace car decals. loved it. *NM*

The TRX tires are out there.....better fix is TRX looking 16" wheels.... *NM*
I have heard of people putting 15" tires on those wheels. The metrics are something like 15.3" so it would seem possible *NM*
Not possible. Now, what might be possible would be to re-machine those TRX wheels so they take a 15" tire. But even that seems like
The LMR wheels? Yea, they look great and would be perfect for that car. Pretty sweet, Dave. *NM*
Yes......thanks *NM*
Think Coker Tires does new TRX tires, but...Michelins' own website actually lists them as a current product! *NM* *LINK*
Hmmm....might that be a project for you... or someone you know? *NM*
Jim is the WINNER!! *PIC*
YAY!! *NM*
The turbo 4 was coarse on its best day - but it would get right along. The graphics were very well done, too! *NM*
I drove one when it wa new. Big improvement over the 88 HP 2300 in my 78 Zephyr. *NM*
I bought a new 1980 Fiesta and the Ford dealer took in a low mile pace car a month later. I was tempted after test driving it. Great score Dave! *NM*
YOU LUCKY DOG!! *NM*
I drove one of these as a company car in late 1979 or early 1980..IIRC there were 10,000 built and with the second middle eastern oil embargo in late 1979, vehicles like this became unsellable. I also recall one of my dealers placing his in service as his personal driver..
Years ago, our agency was told in no uncertain terms we could not send any creatives or any proposals to the Merchandising Team until we had traveled with a Pontiac District Manager for a week, and issued a full report...
I understand only 1225 of those 2+2 Grand Prix were made. Sounds pretty rare but I remember seeing 2 side by side at the local Pontiac dealer here in Fredericton in the summer of '86. *NM*
They should’ve at least put the L69 H.O. in it like the MC SS. With just the LG4, it became a stripe and decal package with unique styling parts. The sloped front grill was nice looking and I would have liked to have seen that offered on the regular GP’s as a sporty
There was a car on plant property to that effect - it was maroon, had the nose, but not the bubble. 15" rallys if memory serves
Rumor had it that Pontiac gave a 2+2 to Richard Petty, but it painted it black... *PIC*
Nice! Thanks for posting! *NM*
I saw the dark cherry car on the plant grounds back in the late 80s early 90s or so....
That’s a shame. I realize the G-body didn’t have long to live since the FWD W-body was gearing up for production. However, it would’ve made nice special edition without the 2+2 bubble rear window before the hammer was dropped. *NM*
Agree - but there were other battles to fight
On a Christmas trip with my parents to visit the grandparents, we passed by a Ford dealer in east Texas that had THREE Mustang IPCs on the lot!
I yad a 79 Pace Car Replica for a few years. Same 4-cyl Turbo/4-speed.

I also have a pair of the Recaro seats. They would need to be re-covered though. *NM*
Would love to find a set from a Recaro edition TA (c.1984?) for my Formy...
There are a few sets (right now) on that auction site that look period correct for that era. May not be exactly from an ‘84 T/A, but they were never available on the Formula which came out in ‘87. For both seats, they seem to be in the $2k price range. *NM*
The single major disappointment of the car (well, the '87s) with custom interior
I liked metrix cloth better too. It was more like velour which is my favorite. *NM*

Pretty darn cool. *NM*
