New Build for 2025

Got back into the fire business a little bit. Nothing fancy, just a way of exercising the building skills for this type of work. Found I'm a little rusty! Final result will be just a basic pumper using ordinary materials and kit parts. No special brass work. I did cast the tires and front wheels though. The IH Loadstar cab is from Dave Carey.

Got the IH cab painted and with some details done. I found that Zoet chrome pens work great on small things. I did the turn signals, headlight bezels, siren and door handles with it and they came out nice and clean. Next up is to get the windshield wipers done and add the light bar to the cab roof. The engine is a casting of the IH Scout 345 V-8.

This second piece is one I picked up at a model show. Have not done anything to it except clean it up a bit and add a new mirror to the right side. It was never painted except for the interior and the bed of the body. The chrome is in excellent shape for the age of the model. The front wheels were splayed out some so I added some plastic shims to the front axle to strengthen and straighten them out.
Other than that, it's going to stay just as someone else had built it.
