He's a longtime aircraft builder who occasionally dabbles in cars. He's also a retired college department dean (Avionics/Aviation Science), and there was a 1/8 scale Monogram Jaguar XKE in a display case in his office when I visited him there several years ago.

Anyhoo, he built a killer airplane model, wrote it up in FSM, and the had multiple references to Radio Shack in his story for tools and supplies. I told him the references were fine...but anyone who read the article in ten years' time, would probably not understand what 'Radio Shack' is. Despite the fact that his FIRST job was at a Radio Shack, he hadn't kept up with the then-current news, about the chain's imminent bankruptcy and closing.
