what I can tell you from my experience building an original AMT 65 Cuda using a 71 Duster as a donor

is that it was nowhere near as straightforward a swap as other A bodies I've worked on. I'm not sure of the whys and wherefores, and don't recall what alterations I had to make to get it to fit, other than the usual file/fit/dremel routine, but after getting the Duster chassis and engine bay in place where it looked good, the wheel base was off in left field. The rear wheels were where they belonged, and the firewall and engine bay was where it needed to be, but the front wheels were way off. In the end I was forced to elongate the mounting holes on the wheel backs to get the fronts centered up in the opening.
