Nice work *NM*
Charlie, you are a scratch builder extraordinaire! *NM*
OT! Some folks claim one should just mulch the leaves in place to return some of the composition to the base of the tree for insulation and a source of needed minerals, etc. for tree growth in the spring. In your opinion does that make any sense? *NM*
Well, Bill, if it's just some folks, I'm not worried about it. I clean them up every year and each year they come back just as strong! There is never a lack of leaves! *NM*
Agreed, I clean them up every year, in fact spent most of Yesterday raking the back yard. I do wish the previous homeowner had planted less Maple trees, I pick up limbs from those things on a daily basis. *NM*
Before we became apartment dwellers, I handled the leaves with a combination of raking and bagging the front yard, built simply mulching the backyard....
As long as you can get the bits to about dime/quarter size, it is good for the lawn
My last ride on the old JD is about this time of year, as most of the leaves have fallen and dried out. They disintegrate very nicely with the final chop run. *NM*
Easier to rake and clean up rather than leave them all winter to become rotten and slimy in my opinion. *NM*
Usually the grass under them is temporarily killed too. *NM*
