Early Hemis also used to be used for emergency generators in large buildings like hospitals. A former neighbor worked for a Honeywell division that serviced gensets, and remarked that some old buildings still had Hemis for backup, or did in the early part of his career. *PIC*

Been over 20 years since I lived in Grapevine, but he left first (Honeywell had an exclusive contract in some Arizona city, so he and his wife left).

Some big-blocks are still used for 'industrial use'. Ford has something known as the LSG875i, which is a 460 V8 adapted for industrial purposes.

    - Our family farm had a '57 Industrial Hemi chugging behind the irrigation well into the early '70s - when replaced with a Ford 429 industrial gaseous fuel engine
