Paint schemes were interesting. Supposedly, each plant was capable of duplicating fleet paint jobs providing at least one plant did a batch of vehicles. The California Highway Patrol scheme was doable systemwide, as Crown Vics and Explorers were done, so theoretically, it was possible to order the same paint scheme on Mercury Topaz 4-doors and the Thunderbird coupe....maybe even in different colors (Wimbledon White...and Prairie Gold Metallic two-tone???)
