I started this a month or so ago when I found a GMC Panel Van on Cults3d. I realized that with a little effort I could use the grille parts to convert the AMT 50 Chevy pickup the GMC as the main external differences are in the grille and the tailgate. The panel kit I downloaded was supposedly 1/25 but in reality was maybe closer to 1/23 otherwise it was perfect. The larger size meant that I had to play around with it a little bit to get a usably sized grille. Once I was happy with the printed grille I then had to figure out how to modify the hood to fit with the grille.
For the tailgate I modified the kit part by sanding off the Chevrolet lettering and creating the GMC lettering.
I decided that for this build I was going to use a modern street rod chassis and 672 Chevy engine that I downloaded from Cults3d.
With the necessary adjustments for the chassis the rest of the buld was pretty much out of the box.
Now on to my next build. This one will be a stock 50 GMC pickup.
