Some would say independent suspension does it, others might say "cowl lamps" or "luggage rack" *NM*

Well, I don't know, but it is interesting the way the firewall was reversed. *NM*
'30/'31 5-window coupe body with a deuce style windshield/roof, and a stretched deuce frame with independent front suspension *NM*
When a hot rod becomes a street rod.😎 *NM*
Rich, when DOES a hot rod become a street rod? *NM*
Jim,an interesting question,I've had my 1940 Dodge since 1971,hotrodded since 1973,notice I said hotrodded but I use the term hotrod & streetrod,to me the terms are interchangeable & mean the same thing tho' in the 80/90's some of the thought police derided the street rod ..
Hot rods for racing, and street rods for cruizing? :-) *NM*
I like that argument, cause that means I have 2 hot rods. Well, only one now, as I got rid of one. *NM*
I always thought Hot Rods were pre '48 and Street rods were '48 and newer. *NM*
There has been that argument as well. *NM*
Pre-war cars with the fenders removed are definitely "Hot Rods". IMHO. Most all cars with fenders up to the eary '50s are "Street Rods" . IMHO. There is no well-defined "line" however. *NM*
When the National Street Rod Association was established in 1969, the cut off for Street Rod was 1948 or older. Street Machine was 1949 and newer.... NSRA has since evolved to a rolling cut off of 30 years.

This has got to be a hot rod. I love this car. *NM* *PIC*
A few years back there was a thread about that over on the H.A.M.B.... I kinda threw a monkey wrench into the whole "nobody EVER used independent suspension on a hot rod back in the 50's" argument, when I dropped this pic on them..... *PIC*
That photo would make a great garage diorama! *NM*
