The side panel of the Box art caught my attention on the AMT 68 Corvette Custom..... *PIC*

...It was a bear of a kit, and a collection of parts I recognized from the 63 Split window, a top that didn't fit, ride height that looked like a 4X4 and decals that were way too thick and tough. After some adjustments and lots of test fitting it finally got done, but I don't dare breath on it for fear it'll come apart like the old spring loaded kids game "Boo-bie Trap" (mis-spelled to get around the naughty filter)

It has lots of warts, I removed all the chrome except the fuel cap and the front driving lamps. The chassis is the one piece unit from the 63 Split window kit, I wanted to build the side panel box art, but the poseable steering won't pose with solid steel axles! The wheels in the kit are mis-matched and the front American style wheels are spindle mounts which would probably not work too well on a "Canyon Charger", but what do I know!?
.
The interior is an interesting piece, the seats are molded ala the old tub style, but interestingly , are a stock passenger seat and competition driver seat. I removed the Radio and heater controls from the dash and used the kit supplied steering wheel.

The motor is the Chevy SB with the duel carb intake and velocity stacks from the kit.

The windshield surround was badly warped and broken in my version, and the glass was not too interested in fitting the opening. I painted the hard-top to match, but I'm not sure what kit it was originally from but the fit on this one caused me to invent some new curse words. Thus it went back into the box.

The paint is combo of Duplicolor, Tamiya and Testors ,

I can't say I'd recommend this kit to anyone who doesn't have some prior building experience. The over-all presentation works if you're willing to squint your eyes a bit and aren't too concerned with accuracy . I'd give it C+, maybe a B- as it did provide some frustrating Fun if that is such a thing. Buyer be ware!
