For you old guys...I think it was 1969 when we had a LOT of quakes and the experts said CA was going to fall into the ocean. I think KTLA even visited a man who had a mini sub in his back yard as if that would save him. But as a kid it was upsetting. Dad worked at Valvoline in Santa Fe Springs and they had a large warehouse. Each quake left the warehouse a mess and otten someone hurt. Dad decided to ask to be moved back east somewhere.....we ended up in Charlotte.
