Duntov did the rear suspension and chassis development as a side hustle of sorts - Bunkie was stuck with Corvair, but that did not mean he was okay with keeping it the way it was and green-lighted the Mk. II version.

(Any similarity to Corvette is strictly intentional.) That chassis was just darn good, would probably be better with modern tires and shocks.

I think I may still have a Mk II Corvair in the stash earmarked for a FC project. But might be rethinking that...
