For those not familiar with the term "Wrongbed" it's ultimately Ford's fault. Ford's new Styleside pickups were introduced in 1961. Ford's body engineers combined the cab and bed into a single welded assembly, which they called “Integrated.” However, a serious problem soon arose. When the cargo box was loaded, the doors would no longer open. Plus body panels rippled and tore. The integrated body design was not rigid enough, twisting out of shape when loads were applied. F-100 Styleside pickups with the old-style separate cab and bed were hurried into production and offered alongside the Integrated models in 1962. The term "Wrongbed" came into play because in the rush to solve the problem they didn't have time to design a Styleside bed matching the new cab. So they used the 57-60 bed design.
With the completion of my 60 Gulf Wrecker project I had a leftover bed. So what was I to do but build a “Wrongbed” pickup. I used the leftover chassis plate as well and combined it with the Moebius 65 Cab. The only other thing I did was to add the chrome strip from the 65 bed to the 60 bed.
