Got a book on Northeast modifieds a few years ago. PLENTY of 'small bolt circle' rims on the cars back then. *PIC*

Here's a car run by Geoff Bodine back then.

Those MPC modifieds pretty much fall together. But yes, the tires have always been a weak point. *NM*
The wheels are a small bolt pattern that almost nobody ever used back in the day (or even now), plus they look like slot mags, which were illegal to use in most places. The tires are dirt tires, So, they may be OK to use if you are building a dirt car. But in my eyes, these
ASA wheels and hubs, kit tires sanded down. Also a R-W-B post, I guess. *NM* *PIC*
Cool modified! I bet it took a while to sand those Good Years down. *NM*
Actually, if you put them on a mandrel, chuck it in an electric drill, you can do them pretty fast. *NM*
Hi Mike, I love building the 4 types of MPC modifieds. You can build them into almost any picture you can find of a 60's-70's modified. I like Wide 5 wheels and Performance Plastic tires. *NM*
Scroll down about 10 entries, and check out the many details I was able to add to the Ridge runner Pinto. *NM*

You are correct. A lot of people copied Bodine's setup, but that didn't last long, maybe for the next several years. I don't know why. And a lot of cars always ran wide-five hubs/wheels. Everybody runs them today. *NM*
