I think Dupli-Color DE 1622 Chrysler Orange is the same as Street Hemi Orange... *NM*

Question. In a 1969 Dodge Dart GTS with a 383 engine, is the engine painted red or hemi-orange. I looked at 4 Google images and I can't tell the difference between those 2 colors. Thanks. *NM*

My info says Hemi Orange. Engine Hemi Orange is different than body Hemi Orange. And there were two engine Hemi Oranges, Street and racing. *NM*
What David said. I think you're noticing a reddish hue that could be either the brand of paint used or even online color resolution. FYI, Tim Boyd and others have done some excellent articles over the years on painting Mopar engines *NM*
It's called "Street Hemi Orange" and it was used on all high performance engines from '69-'72. (there are some exceptions). The color is very similar to "Chevy Engine Orange" (not "red"). Mopar sells it in large spray cans, p/n/ P4349216. VHT p/n SP120. *NM*
"Street Hemi Orange" *NM* *PIC*
Here is a pic of the spoon test that I did with orange colors to see what they looked like. All shot over Tamiya white primer. *NM* *PIC*
