Since it is a diesel-electric does that make it like a smaller modern version of a diesel locomotive engine? :-) *NM*

All you heavy truck modelers...check this out! *LINK*
Mixed feelings. Let's see how it works in a real world environment. Nice smooth ride on a test track. Interstates and local roads not so much in many cases! *NM*
Peterbilt, Volvo and Freightliner all have their versions of SuperTrucks - all heavily funded by Department of Energy grants.

What I don't understand is why they insists on putting the driver in the center, I'm not so sure I would like to sit there far from each side driving a full size rig. *NM*
This is a place where a hybrid really could make sense - but there is still a huge fleet still on the road *NM*
And just imagine if that huge fleet was electric like so many people dream of. After charging them up all night...there wouldn't be enough power to run your alarm clock! *NM*
And how many billions of tons of coal would be burned to produce that power?🙄 *NM*
The beauty of electricity is that it can be generated through more than one source. Gasoline? Not so much. Also, do you think about how much fuel is burned or energy is required just to pump raw petroleum, refine it and transport the finished fuel to your gas station?
The not so beautiful is...
And... North America has all the resources necessary to be totally energy independent. There is plenty of oil and gas here to last 100s of years. The infrastructure to deliver it is already in place. If we wanted to, we could probably produce every part for every vehicle in
Without the slavery, too. Some slaves mining for car battery minerals are as young as 5 Years old... *LINK*
Matt/Moderators: This has the potential to get political (appears to have the taint already) so if you need to blow this out, feel free it is far froma modeling discussion at this point. But, if you are interested in a helpful fact, read on
I think there is nothing political about the electric car debate.. But when things get heated, that's a pretty clear sign of successful propaganda.
Hear, hear! *NM*
WOW! *NM*
