• So, I'm looking over the engine bits to the '34 Ford Slammer. The hood decal calls it out as a Ford 428. I'm not too sure it's anything. Looks a little bit everything, yet nothing. What could the engine be? This has probably already talked about before...
  • The valve covers might be a bit off, but for the most part it's a big-block Chevy *NM*
    • I agree, that is what it kind of looks like. With oversize small-block Chevy valve covers. Steal some big-block 7-bolt covers from someplace and it will really inprove it. *NM*
      • Bill is right, find set of 7 bolt ribbed M/T V/C's and make it look much better! *NM*
        • There's a 3D print set on eBay that look fantastic. Next time I get something from that guy, I'm going to throw a set on the pile *NM*
  • It's cool to think that I built one of these about 50 years ago when it came out, and you can still buy a new one. Have to get another one and do it all over again! *NM*
    • Wow.... I can hardly believe that it's been that long. But you're right.... I built the 36 Chevy when those kits first came out... Pretty sure I was about 14 or 15 at the time (I'm 63 now)..... Where does the time go???? *NM*
      • You've all probaly seen the one that I "modified" the heck out of. Used a 351C out of an AMT NASCAR T-Bird. Only thing I would change next time is to take about 3/8" out of the frame length forward of the firewall. The chassis is just too long, IMHO. **PICS**
