• Recent reissues by Round2 seem to be shooting up to what the original versions were selling for. Example: the “Squad Rod” Nova. Reissued (not that long ago) in 2016, but prices are getting near the original values, released back in 82. What’s going on? *NM*
  • Newer one will have better/more usable decals, if that's the version you want to build *NM*
    • It could be the reason, but I’ve seen this on the ‘75 Datsun PU, City Slicker ‘69 Charger and some others. When you do find them, they’re at price gouge prices. Is Round2 making very low production runs? Kits from 2016 and newer should not be $100+ already IMO. *NM*

            • Yeah, that’s what I mean. The originals were around that same price or just a bit higher and the recent reissue is getting up there really fast too. It’s kind of crazy. *NM*
            • The new world: A big run is 5000 units so if you like it and you see it, grab it.
              • The funny thing is, some kits like the AMT “Old Pro” ‘72 Nova and the MPC ‘73 Mustang have been easily available for quite some time and prices have held steady over the years. The “Squad Rod” ‘79 Nova reissue must have been an ultra low production run. *NM*
                • RC just dumped those kits into the channels for years, I used to buy 'yellow box' kits for parts, they were a treasure trove
        • Asking prices. It’s either out of stock or near that price point, if available. The City Slicker Charger is similar too. Super low production run plus price gouging is the only thing I can think of. *NM*

            • I don’t need it that bad to be price gouged. Anyway, I have two “Street Machine” issues purchased back in ‘87 from “Hobby Heaven” so I’m good. *NM*

  • Production and transportation costs have skyrocketed since 2020, and not just Round2. There is a noticeable difference in price from the same kit in different runs. *NM*
    • They come over the water on the same ships. The “City Slicker” I was seeing everywhere. Then, supply dried up and prices shot up after that. Yet, the “Old Pro” ‘72 Nova and ‘73 Mustang heritage box edition are a dime a dozen. *NM*
      • The numbers produced vary greatly, that's why some kits are seen everywhere while others come and go quickly *NM*
