21 months total, in Japan Yokosuka, Kobe and Sasebo, mostly. 99% of the "locals" wore masks. I learned their language(enough to "get by"),customs, and "culture". 360 yen to a dollar!! I asked a "Mama-san"(who ran a nightclub) why all the masks? Her answer: "Curtousy"(sp?) *NM*

You betchum, Red Ryder. The Japanese winters are wet and cold, and the population is real suseptable to colds and other ailments, so I've been told, so, just about everybody wore masks. BUT, funny thing. In the bars and "clubs" nobody wore one. Only outside IIRC. Philippnes
