WOW!! So many awesome models! *NM*
Thanks for the picture show. Looks like great fun. *NM*
Oh my goodness gracious!!! Marty, I think you just outdid yourself with these NNL 'Pics"!! Now, you guys are gonna hate me(maybe get a "contract" out on me, BUT,MY OPINION I have NEVER liked BMF!! Looks like Reynolds Wrap, to me!! Example? The GORGEOUS Revell '53 customized
That's what BMF looks like when it's not properly burnished down. *NM*
To me anyhoo, that just made me say, DAMN!! All that work THEN, BMF!! ARRRGH!!! Gorgeous, otherwise. *NM*
Yeah, kinda ruined it I guess. *NM*
Or maybe the surface underneath was not smooth? *NM*
Exactly. Tim Boyd has warned about this. I've also had the same experiences--found it out the hard way. *NM*
IMHO - It's really not the product, it's the process - technique, practiced application, effort. It's just like paint - same product can result in a glassy smooth, perfect finish or orange peel. Same product, different execution. *NM*
Best approach (IMHO) is to start with the tougher parts first (corners, recesses, molded-in windshield wipers) then do the easy stuff. And, put the thing down and come back later if you start rushing the work *NM*
Some imaginative and great builds there *NM*
Good to see Kirby Hughes' latest, miss seeing his stuff here on the Board *NM*
You guys know how to live! Thanks *NM*
Does anybody know what kit has the intake/manifold that is on the dark blue Shelby GT350? I've seen it on several models but haven't found the kit it comes from, yet. *NM*
Real hard to see exactly what it is. Is it 4 Webers on a small block Ford? I might have one in resin. LMK if that is what you are looking for. *NM*
Where is the pic you refer to?.......AMT's 289 Cobra has a quad Weber intake & carbs as has the IMC/Testors/Lindberg Cougar 11. *NM*
Image 6797 in Marty's fotki link.
Thanks everyone...provided some insight on where to find what I'm looking for. *NM*
Yes the AMT Cobra and Cougar ll are the only kits I could find with the arrangement in photo. The original AMT '66 Mustang GT had 4 webers arranged differently. *NM*
The Sunny Cobra also has Weber arrangement like the photo. There are probably 3D or resin examples also available. *NM*
Webers on SBFords are arranged along the intake not across as is sometimes modelled which(across) is how Ferrari uses the Weber setup. *NM*
Marty, you out done yourself..You took pix of every model there it seems..Sorry to have missed seeing you guys but hoping for next year.. *NM*
I tried to get as many as possible. *NM*
Great pics! I'm wondering if the '69 Buick Skylark (IMG 6732 to 6734) is a 3D print. *NM*
There is/was a resin body donw about ten or so years ago. Forgot who did it. *NM*
Perry's Resin out of Canada, I think. Don't know if he's still around, though. *NM*
Still around but he no longer does resin. *NM*
That was a '68 and the front bumper/hood/grille was too flat, definitely not this model. I'd say this is one of the prints I've been seeing. They're '69s and pretty accurate. *NM*
Star Models is showing a '69 Skylark now. *NM*
I was thinking it could be, but the shape of the rear trim for the vinyl roof is different. *NM*
Well, it is labeled as a Skylark. *NM*
It is a Skylark, but what I was trying to say is that there are details on the model in the photos that are different from details on the one offered by Star. Not disputing anything, FWIW, just wanting to learn more about 3D print/resin models of subjects like this.
Oh. *NM*
My apologies for the confusion. I sometimes am not careful enough with my wording. :-) *NM*
No problem. *NM*
Too Many Projects has one on the list but I didn't think it was out yet. *NM*
Who drove?? *NM*
We met at Frank's place in Rockford and he drove from there....
I see my Buddy Don Hollison from Colorado Springs CO made it out there !!! He "scratch" builds a lot of unusual Big Trucks !!! *PIC*
Here was Dons other one !!!! Once again way smaller than his Oil Rigs !!! LOL !! *NM* *PIC*
That was a very impressive rig and one of my three choices for a Top Ten award.
Hey, KT, Check your email for a note from me. I've lost Don Hollison's contact info. I'd like to re-establish contact with him. Thks *NM*
Thanks Marty! Great '60 4x4, Dennis! *NM*
