I know it was available in the later 30's by GM , other than that I don't know . *NM*

No, you are speaking of the right person. Art isn't in jail anymore though. They transfered him to a nursing home suffering due to dementia. *NM*

My understanding is that metallic type paints started to become common in the mid 30's,I know that my 1940 Oz assembled Dodge which was Plymouth based was a metallic light brown/gold,the original colour when I bought it in September 1971. *NM*
