Another Etzel kit--this is the 1928 Stutz Blackhawk. It was designed to achieve the land speed record. The driver was Indy 500 winner Frank Lockhart.

At Ormond Beach (Daytona), he crashed on the second run and was killed. The car was destroyed.

This is a curbside. It's a beautiful car, one of my favorites. It's tiny, especially when compared to the aero-engined behemoths of the era.
