I have not had to strip kit chrome for quite awhile so I have forgotten what to use....anybody?? Thanks *NM*
I've had success with Westley's Bleche White. *NM*
I start with C H E A P dollar store bleach.......work up to bleach white and citri-strip. *NM*
Purple Power will take the 'chrome' off but won't do much to the lacquer underneath. *NM*
Same for "Liquid Plumr" gel. *NM*
I’ve heard Easy Off takes it down to bare plastic but I’ve never tried. *NM*
About 1/2 the time. Chances are it'll need two treatments. *NM*

Has to be the original formula. The stuff you pretty much need to wear a gas mask to use! *NM*
Also found out, the COVID K95 masks work just as good(to me anyway),but I have the garage door open, and only "dechrome" in the late Spring /early Summer. And yes I do have a painter's mask. *NM*
That's all I've ever used. BUT, in the pump spray. It's thicker then the aerosol spray can, more like a jell. *PIC*
Super Clean in the purple jug will strip chrome and the lacquer underneath, leave the parts in for a few days, worst case scenario, scrub and do a second soak *NM*
If you can find it, 91% alcohol. *NM*

I can't say I've ever had much luck with any concentration of isopropyl stripping chrome. *NM*

For the lacquer undercoat, Dot 3 will usually take care of that. *NM*
I've seen it at Walmart and walgreens . *NM*
