Ain't that the truth!

The best thing for me was to have a numbered-up beast sitting on the shelf that looked like the cars I'd seen trading paint on TV. The chassis was a means to an end, but what really mattered is how it looked once it was painted up and on the shelf!

Today, I find myself reverting back to that to an extent. While a nice detailed, correct chassis is nice to have, I have no problem building a reissue MPC or a new Salvinos knowing that not all the details are correct, but just enjoying the process, and making sure it has good shelf presence! So I'll make sure it has the right stance and the outer details are good, I'll make allowances for fudged chassis details, incorrect headers, or whatever. It just has to feel like a vintage race car... :-)
