• Am I wrong in saying, the old AMT kit of the '29 Roadster(to me) is a lot more fun to build than the "new" Revell version of same? Also, the Dodge "Red Ram" engine in the AMT kit, is that a Hemi? I STILL like flatheads! Ya, I know. I'm "old school"!! L.O.L. *NM*
  • The AMT 29 Roadster was the 2nd model in the Ala Kart kit from 1962,the Hemi is the Dodge Red Ram that the Ala Kart had,AFAIK most if not all reissued Roadster kits have most/some of the Ala Kart included,the AMT Roadster has more accurate wheelwells than Revells kit IMO. *NM*
  • The Revell kit is more fun for me, but I also understand why the AMT kit is more fun for others. The Revell rear wheel cutout is non-factory, but the inner fenderwell (protruding vs. recessed beads) and cowl/windshield area of the Revell kit is more factory correct...TB *NM*
    • Tim, I appreciate your feedback(and everybody else's), BUT this old geezer could care less about "factory correct", or any other kind of "correctness"!!(is that a "word")? I wanted the Revell to be a "ground hugger and NOT a "High boy". Went by instructions on the "B"

        • When I started model car building(mid '60"s), the AMT '32 Ford coupe got my undivided attention, and @ $1.25 each, I bought roughly11 of 'em. When I get off the 'puter in a few minutes, I'm gonna go and throw rocks at my '29's. I do not, have not, will not comment, good, bad

          • What Steve said Tamiya's is a touch brighter shade of yellow than the late 1960's AMT "Mellow Yellow" Fireflake Lacquer I used, but clearly pearl. Worth a look...TIM *NM*
