        • Without doing the math, maybe more swept area? Maybe small discs dissipate heat quicker? Don't know. *NM*
          • Assuming the brake pad width is the same for both, 10" vs 13" discs, one 13" disc has around 70 square inches, while two 10" discs have about 100 square inches. So about 1.4X the area would be a good guess. *NM*
        • Dave.......your version hasn't had issues with the front tyres......is it a recent issue? *NM*
          • Kit tires but it was a newer issue kit. So far so good!!! *NM*
  • I built the Tamiya P34 1/20 kit when it 1st came out, the solid front tyres have gone wrinklely & are still "weeping" a clear oil onto the glass shelf, dunno if the reissued kit has this issue tho,its 1 of the 1st F1 kits I built,none of the other 11 have this tyre issue. *NM*
  • One of my favorite F1 cars, along with the Brabham fan car...Is that "6 wheeler" still in the Tamiya catalog in either scale?...I have an old "matchbox" ertl 1/32 scale kit that is on the project list. *NM*
    • Tamiya has TWO versions of the 6 Wheeler Tyrell in 1/20 and the 1/12 was recently out in original form......
      • Actually Tamiya does a third version ... 76 Japanese GP to do Rush movie car
    • The Matchbox 1/32nd Tyrell P34 6 wheeler is the 2nd version of the car with the white upper body, the Matchbox one is a really nice kit . *NM*
  • My very distant cousin, Clark Macomber did pretty much the same with the 1983 Thunderbird WC 1/24 NASCAR kit
    • Then there's the 'Stroker Ace' effect--the stock car in many of the movie shots IS a stripped street Thunderbird!
