When we were kids, it didn't matter. The "ooooh" factor when the body would go up was more than enough psychic reward

Add in sewing thread wiring for the engine, sand those slicks, and get that Testor's Candy Purple down just right, advance to the head of the lunchroom model building table!

We're a lot smarter, with a lot more reference to fall back on now, but I don't think it always serves us well.

Grinding away at details and scratchbuilding select parts is still fun (can't stop doing it, really) but the buy it on Friday, paint it Saturday, assemble it Sunday vibe is long gone.

I have a bunch of the parts stashed away, just looking for a few extras so I don't have to rob my otherwise mint '67 GTO kit to get it done!
