.....knowing that they were crushing cars in California (they did not do this here in Colorado) I had this awesome idea to make a coffee table base out of a crushed car !!!! I called a salvage yard in CA and inquired about if you can buy a whole crushed car and they said "sure if you want". I asked about dimensions and was told that it depended on the size of the car but they can squeeze and or re squeeze within reason to suit my needs (I did not mention what I was up to). After figuring what size I needed we were off to California to visit friends / soak up some sun / and get my coffee table base !!!! Well what I did not ask or even THINK about though it is very obvious now was how much it weighed !!!! Well if you take a 3000 pound car and crush it you have a 3000 pound brick !!!! Needless to say my dream was shattered !!!!! LOL !!!!! KT
