Just to muddy the water..........

Mark pretty much has it. But FORD was coil springs up front and leaf's out back up to 1971. In 72 FORD was coils all around. ALSO NASCAR went from 'stock suspension at stock location' to same system as showroom car. IE: When FORD changed to coils in rear in 1972 they were permitted to use stock short trailing arms OR the GM long training arms. It was the start of NASCAR going to a generic chassis.
