As far as I know, all the NASCAR Mopars up into the late 1970s used leaf springs in the rear suspension. *PIC* *LINK*

I've looked at many photos over the years and have never seen anything other than leaf springs under a NASCAR Mopar from the 1960s or 1970s. Here's a shot of one of the Petty cars under construction.

I just checked my Salvino's Petty Plymouth and it does have leaf spring rear suspension. If I'm remembering this right, Salvinos initially had leaf springs under the '77 Olds kits, but later put in the trailing arms (like in Dave Van's post) under the GM kits.
