Whereja get the mold compound - is it a wax? Looks like a more affordable solution than the excellent (but expensive) 2-part silicone *NM*

Is there a secret to making chrome headlight lenses look more authentic? I seem to remember a post about coating them with clear flat, or something like that. Thanks. *NM*
I brush some pearl white paint on them. Not perfect but it helps. *NM*
I use clear flat--gives them a frosted look. Not as good as clear, but pretty passable, I think, Jim. *NM*
should have said "not as good as clear lenses" *NM*
I was looking at an old build and whatever flat I used has yellowed. I'll say it was for France! *NM*
Tim Boyd uses a mix of pearl white and either silver or clear (can't remember) and it's the best result I've ever seen (reference his 74 RR build on his Fotki site), maybe he can input on that *NM*
I take a picture of the 1:1 and print on clear decal then apply over the molded light, sometimes takes a couple layers for the colors/depth to come thru *NM* *PIC*
I use Testors clear part cement. *NM*
I just replace them *NM* *LINK*
That IS my solution, fortunately I have plenty of spare clear lenses. I drill out, make styrene backs, foil and glue parts box lenses with canopy glue or 5 min epoxy, BUT the original post wasn't about replacing them. For me though I always do replace them! *NM*
