  • My first car 66 Dodge Coronet 500 one of my favorite cars I've owned. Still barely have the scar on my forehead when someone pull out in front of me and swerved to miss them right into a landscaping wall. Paid it off the day before. *NM*
  • I certainly don't miss "graphics" paint jobs. *NM*
    • Your right about that..... though I really still love Lacing and Endless Line paint scheme. The occasional panel paint job ok. But the 80's stripes and the graphic's, man can't believe I liked them. But then again I wore platforms with no rear pocket slacks. ICK. *NM*

        • Oh Man Bill.... I went from platform shoes early-mid 70's to Gator skin pointy toe shoes made for the Disco dance floor, Short leather coats, shirts unbuttoned down half way done your chest....LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. WOW what memories. *NM*

            • I think you would. Cruising every night, going to the dance club and everything that follows. Cruising was just that cruising and every car you could think of no jelly bean look a likes. *NM*
              • Hey, we cruised in the '80s too. Had a red '73 Buick Centurion 2 dr when I was 18. Then got a '76 Caprice Landau followed by a '69 Riviera. My crowd had some great cars too. '78 Z-28, Grand Prixs, full size 2wd Blazers, '68 Chrysler 300 , even a '76 Buick Free Spirit.
                • Yes we were still in early 80's until about 86-87 when things like that started to die off a bit. I think is because performance cars were starting to loose their luster for the average guy. The hanging out at the local malls parking lots started showing up. *NM*
                  • Which then lead into the organize car shows and a scheduled cruise night but then idiots ruined that. Started doing the Street Machine Nations thing. Love them. *NM*

        • Clothing maybe, but hair styles are actually worse now than in the 1970s and 80s. What's up with buzzing off the side of your head and growing a big mop on top? :-D Sigh... we're such followers... lol *NM*
          • I'm sure the older folks grumbled about the hairstyles of the kids in the '60s and '70s. Things haven't changed much. :-) Many adults even hated rock and roll. *NM*
            • Yup... there were dumb hairstyles back then and good and bad ones today. As long as the wearer is happy, all's good though. lol *NM*
  • Great group of pics as usual, Bill. My default favourites are always the 1970 Coronets, but this week I'm lovin' the Petty Superbird. Coincidentally last night I was watching the 1970 Alabama 500 from Talledega on youtube. Man, it's crazy to see those winged cars... *LINK*
