Hope the revamp of this BB will include some kind of like feature LIKE ;) *NM*

Although since this contraption looks destined to be some kind of street rod, you'll note the plumbing attached to where the water pump would normally be. Must be planning on a rear-mounted radiator with an electric pump (or something). *NM*

Wonder? Is this really functional, never seen a set up like it before. *NM* *PIC*
I guess I'd have to ask why? Wouldn't that choke the air out of you breathing that exhaust in. It's kind of a neat set up but you have to do something with that exhaust. *NM*
Probably just to be different. Seems to me this sets all kinds of weird things, like intake valves smaller than exhaust valves, etc. *NM*
Not sure why except to be different. They did the same with flathead Fords, which I think had some advantage. Don't have any idea what. *NM*
IIRC they did it to flathead Fords because they had a siamesed exhaust port where the two center cylinders dumped into one pipe, so switching it up gave better exhaust flow. *NM*
Also with Frod fatheads the front & rear cylinders on each bank have the exhaust running a long way around the cylinder wall, reverse flow was done to try & obtain max hp., on a SBC I think it was because it just could be done, Frontenacs DOHC Stagger Valve is the earliest
Yes it can be done, and has been. You have to wonder how much performance they are giving up with the (now) small intake valves and ports, vs larger exhaust ports and valves? More time/money than brains perhaps? *NM*
Couldn't they remachine the heads, or start with new blanks to get around the valve issue? *NM*
Not really practical. With unlimited money though, I guess anything is possible. *NM*
Change for the sake of change. If it were an improvement, many more people would have done it *NM*
Odd placement of the distributor, IMHO *NM*
That's not totally strange. They do it on a lot of drag cars, especially where space is limited. Of course, you can't have a water pump anymore. *NM*
Interesting, Thanks Bill! BTW I assume no waterpump doesn't really affect the engine during a 1/4 mile run? *NM*
Dragsters and altereds with no radiator had coolant in the block, sometimes lines back and forth to an "expansion tank" to catch the overflow if it warmed up enough. Most didn't run more than a minute or so at a time, they could cool back down before the next round *NM*
Thanks for the info Mark, one is never too old to learn. *NM*
