...instead of the whole axle rising or falling, which would affect the opposite wheel. Montgomery was crazy like a fox with some of the things he did, like the torque tube rear suspension which effectively gave him a third traction bar. If he tried something, he thought it would work. If it stayed on the car, he was pretty sure it worked. If he incorporated it into his next car, he knew it worked. And he used that dipped front axle on at least three cars: the two Mustang gassers, and the Maverick...
