...and they talked Reynolds Aluminum into building a processing plant nearby. They actually transported molten aluminum in railroad cars from one facility to another. Imagine a strike at the foundry catching them off guard. The investment was just too big to push aside, though they might have instead used it to make aluminum parts for a new Corvette...
