Remember these places, they were everywhere in the 60 and 70's. As for me it reminds me of Myers drug store in my home town of Fairmont, West Virginia. What was your favorite place that had models where you lived? *NM* *PIC*

There was a hobby shop I'd ride my bike to that was quite a few miles away.......(More)
My go to place in the mid 60's was the upstairs hobby shop run by the local pharmacy, located at the bus stop that I'd use every day from school, I can still recall AMT,Revell,Monogram & those Johan & Renwall classic car kits that spiked my interest in 1:1 old cars. *NM*
After 60 years in business, this great place is closing in a few weeks. Amotos, in New Britain, CT. *PIC*

You can thank all the mail order places for that ....Re: After 60 years in business, this great place is closing in a few weeks. Amotos, in New Britain, CT. *NM*
Not this place, as their business was still good, and they had an online presence. Owners could not find anyone in, or out, of their family who wanted to take it over. Sold building to a condo developer for big $$$. Owners are just retiring. *NM*
In our home town it was Bashford's Sporting Goods. The store had every kind of sports equipment and a full service camera department, plus a model shop located in the basement....more...
In 1958...
Hey Marty. Remember Brooks Drugs, basement? Or Dave's Toys and Hobbies? Long ago, far away. *NM*
Yep... I discovered Brook's / Dave's shortly after moving to Dixon in early '85. *NM*
We used to hang out at Harry Chapmans department store in Kincardine in the early 60's. Inside the front door was a whole rack of comic books and the back wall was full of model kits. he sucked up a lot of my lawn mowing money. *NM*
For me it was Ridgewood Variety in East Moline, IL... This was in the early '70's, and Dad would take me there every couple of weeks (we lived 25 miles away).... During the summer of '79, I discovered Leisure Time Hobbies, also in East Moline...
Probably for me either Ben Franklin or the local H.E.B. grocery store. There was also a third place in town called Perry's, another five and dime store. *NM*
Sage's Toys, Arcade Hobbies and ABC Union Store, Riverside, Ca. *NM*
Arcade Hobbies was awesome. They had stuff going back to Revell and Monogram flatboxes and annual back to 1960 at box price. In about 74 I filled my 66 Mustang up to the point I could barely move the shifter, then went back around 6 weeks later and did the same. There was
The hobby shop on Magnolia close to Arlington, IIRC, was Harper's Hobbies. I bought a lot of Jo-Han..
Harper's!, that's it. Didn't go to TomKat much although got to know Tom better in the early AMS days until he had his health problems. He was a character. I was in the Busy Bee in Riverside a few times, Don't think they had all the other stores then. *NM*
