Local IPM memvber dies, and his family sold off his collection this past Saturday. I went because his son said there were some car kits in the stash...he also said his dad "liked Mustangs"...

For Mustangs or North American P-51 Mustangs? Hmmm...
Got there less than a half-hour after the "sale" started. Apparently some modelers came and went...and bought already.
Car kits ranged from a nice 1/35 scale Tamiya Citroen "Staff Car" to a '80s reissue Revell '57 Chevy to a Protar Ferrari Formula 1.
Only saw three Muistang kits--Two Monogram '65 Mustangs (one Shelby, one stock 2+2) and an AMT '98 SVT Cobra. Turns out he owned a 1/1 SVT Cobra, but someone hit him at an intersection, and the car was rebuilt, but he didn't quite warm to it after the body shop fixes, so he traded it for a new Jeep. lAter, he owned a Mini Cooper. Hal;f-dozen Ferrari kits, a 1/12 scale Entex BMW CSL kit,

Also saw a Mattel vacuumform machine in the unit. Priced at $50. Don't know if it worked. So what ARE they wroth?

Bought some stuff after an hour and a half. Wound up with TWO Franklin MIint Coca-Cola trucks (1928 GMC with a load of bottles, and a '38 Ford COE bottle truck, both in original boxes), an HO scale 1930s gas station kit (unbuilt), an unbuilt Fujimi Porsche 356 convertible, and that Tamiya Citroen. $100 bucks all in. Like to think that I bought the Mint Coke trucks for that, and got the kits free...and they tossed in some reproduction Lionel Trains tinplate sign (in addition to the military models, the guy also dabbled in model trains of various scales (Lionel, HO, G scale...), radio-control aircraft, and electronics (some sort of Heathkit control units for something...
