  • I don't know the story other than I suppose Meng has borrowed the tooling in the same way Revell,Matchbox,ICM,Italeri,AMT,Polar Lights, Lindberg,Tamiya etc have all done the same thing over the years, I sold the Trumpeter kits but stupidly never kept one for myself. *NM*

  • Wow. Another super NASCAR crash diorama! If it were me, I would lower the light pole heights to keep the compositon a little tighter. With them way up there they pull your eyes up away from the action scene itsefl. Just my 2 cents. It all looks terrific. *NM*

    • Yep,the stand is part of the kit,its in 4 sections,about 1/8th thick opaque plastic,the "name" is peel & stick but is a little large for the area it goes on so I cut it down somewhat,the kit comes with a large water slide decal sheet,my kit came from DDA Graphics...........

    • Thanks Bill, I wasn't overly impressed with the 1963 JoHan caddy & Olds engines, fine for the time but as I had a couple of Revell Parts Pack Caddy engines...why not..all 4 of these JoHans had every custom part glue on,at least the windscreens were o/k with a polish...lol. *NM*

• It's the MPC kit (competitor to AMT back then, both made '71 and '72 Chevelle kits). The MPC body was later used in a NASCAR kit, then as a dirt track car, before being converted back to stock) *NM*
  • When it was converted back to stock, I think we lost the wheel well trim moldings from the original issue. I wish Round2 would restore those if they ever do a “Heavy Chevy” from it. *NM*
